Amsterdam has a unfortunate history in closing down musea, because of extended rebuilding and refurbishment. The Rijksmuseum and Stedelijk Museum have been partly closed for public for (too) many years now, to the dismay of many tourists. But now after 4 years of rebuilding the famous Scheepvaartmuseum re-opened yesterday night. It stands out as a beautifull old building, next to NEMO, the new science centre built by Renzo Piano.
