act fast if you want to see the Red Light District

The City Council is slowly but surely closing down all “windows” in Amsterdam’s Red Light District. For 600 years it was booming business for prostitutes working there. But this may change soon, because the City is sure that there are too many criminals operating the houses for money laundering. Some women start elsewhere in the city with official permits. The old windows are being re-opened as galleries, which is not quite the objective of current visitors.
