tulips from Amsterdam

Photo: Het Parool

This is the time of year that tulips blossom in gardens and fields, in a natural way that is.
Because of the use of greenhouses it is however possible to grow and buy tulips the whole year round (in the Netherlands).
Tulips are often associated with Amsterdam and Holland. And we do grow and export a lot of them. But originally tulips aren’t Dutch, they were imported from Turkey in the 16th century.
