This weekend (March 9 & 10, 2013) Amsterdam hosts the first Chocoa Festival. Chocolate lovers will have the chance to meet the best “chocolatiers” and taste their specialities. Tasting, that’s what this event is all about.
Visitors can try and taste the different varieties and flavours of chocolate, the influence of origin and production, new kinds of chocolate, slow chocolate, many specialities from experts and the combination of wine and chocolate. This taste-challenging festival will change chocolate lovers into connaisseurs.
The festival is part of the first Amsterdam sustainable cocoa conference Chocoa. Amsterdam is the biggest cacao harbour worldwide, about 1/3 of all cacao in the world is processed through it. Amsterdam is working hard to make its cacao industry sustainable, the conference and festival are (a very nice) part of the strategy to reach that goal.
