FotoFestival Naarden (FFN) is the oldest photo festival in The Netherlands and one of the largest, focussing on Dutch photography by new talents as well as established artists.
The theme of the festival this year is:
Don’t stay here – Dutch photography on the move
The festival wants to show the vision of Dutch photographers on the world.
The festival is located on several locations in the old centre of Naarden, which is an old walled city in the shape of a star surrounded by water (see the map). The centre is very authentic, with small streets with beautiful houses and some nice restaurants. The fortress walls are beautifully restored, they form an interesting park around the centre of Naarden and are worth a visit in itself.
It takes about 50 minutes from Amsterdam Central Station to Naarden, but it’s certainly worth the trip. This is the description of the journey, by train and bus (1 change). You can start the trip every hour at Amsterdam Central Station, every day except for Sundays. Sunday the journey is more complicated, check the public transport journey planner.
Festival days: May 18 until June 23, 2013
Monday through Thursday 11.00 – 17.00 uur
