The popular design shop Droog has expanded and is now called Hôtel Droog. New are the café, the gallery, the fashion shop, the beauty shop and the beautiful garden; all in the same building and filled with great design stuff. On top of that (and on the top floor) there is the new mini hotel: an apartment with a pure Droog Design interior.
Hôtel Droog is like a design department store, but nicer. In fact it’s more like a complete design experience.

Sometimes you find culture in places you wouldn’t expect. For instance in the way Amsterdam pub’s names are written in the special Amsterdam curly letter on pub windows. The letter was commonly used in Amsterdam and surroundings from the 1950’s untill about 2000. It is inspired on a letter first published in 1605, but has developed through time into this curly one. On the blog: ‘ I love typography’, Ramiro Espinoza tells about his research and his attempt to prevent the letter from extinction by further developing it, like it always has been through time.
